This book covers all the basics, but I was disappointed that it didn't go very in-depth with many sections. Multiple times it neglects an accurate explanation in favor of a simple metaphor. If you're looking for an easy to understand introduction and basic overview of anatomy and physiology this will be a good book, but if you already know the basics this isn't for you. Personally, I would have preferred if things weren't so oversimplified and expected more information from a college textbook.
Also, without opening the included CD, the book itself does not contain some of the information addressed in the chapter reviews. This is a complaint nearly everyone in my class has made. We've had to Google some questions in order to complete assignments because the book didn't address them. However, the CD may address these gaps should you choose to utilize it as well.
Overall a good book for a cursory A&P introduction, but anyone who's taken biology or read up on the subject won't learn much from this. Your satisfaction with this book will ultimately depend on what level of difficulty you're looking for. Also, the book is not complete without using the included CD.

I ordered this book for a class (Anatomy & Physiology) I was going to be taking through AHIMA. I checked and double checked the book requirement, which included: stock number, authors, edition, and class code. This book was a one hundred percent match, or so I thought. Unfortunately, the chapters in this book did not correspond with the chapters/modules given in the Syllabus. In most cases, I was able to pair up the chapter with the module and proceed studying. However, there were some questions on the tests that were not worded the same and/or were not mentioned in the chapter. I should have returned the book, but, by the time I realized the mistake, I was already enrolled in the class. I thought I could save money by purchasing the book through Amazon. Going forward, I will be playing it safe by only getting my books through AHIMA. Otherwise, the shipping was prompt and I did not have any problems with the Seller.
