Great book! I generally don't have the time or the patience to read through a thick physiology textbook like Guyton & Hall, so when I found this book, it was golden. It gives an easy to understand but thorough introduction and in depth review to every physiological system in the human body. It provides practice questions so you can test your understanding and warm up for course exams. I'm a first year medical student now, and I'm sure that when I study for the boards next year, this will be my primary resource for reviewing physiology material. And the figures are beautiful and very helpful, which makes the book much more enjoyable to use. Before buying this book I compared it to Costanzo's Physiology textbook, but I chose this one because of the clinical emphasis (which will be super helpful for the boards), the ease of use, the gorgeous graphics, and the helpful review questions. Thanks!
ps - the student consult feature is very helpful too. I can reference the entire book online, so I can use it anywhere, anytime.

I often use textbooks as a reference for lecture material. I am currently in my second year of med school and recognize this text as the most valuable book I own. I used it for every physiology system presented in my first year and have found it as an invaluable quick physiology review to help me with my pathology and pharmacology classes. The illustrations are classic and have become pivotal to my understanding of human physiology. The text is a very readable and includes pivotal details to see the comprehensive picture of each system. It was particularly useful for autonomics as it integrates these fundamental concepts well throughout every chapter. The review questions at end of each chapter were a good prep for exams. I plan on using it extensively in my board preparation and keeping it in a readily accessible location for reviewing principles during my clinical training.
