Voet & Voet Biochemistry (4th edition) is a 1300 pp tome packed with detailed information about biochemical reactions, metabolic processes, the structure and function of biomolecules and much more. The book contains plenty of beautiful illustrations about the 3D structures of proteins, DNA, and their complexes, each with its corresponding PDB (Protein Databank) id code. Furthermore, each chapter ends with a long list of references to specific studies published in scientific journals. What can you ask more?

Wow. This book is an excellent biochemical resource. It is a little dense, but if you have a sturdy background in physics, math, and chemistry, you'll find the material efficient and right to the point.
