After 10 years of cleaning up the dirt on Atlanta's streets, Callahan Garrity is trading in her badge for a broom and a staff of house cleaners. But, though the uniform is a little different, Callahan soon finds herself right back in the middle of a mystery when a client's pretty, pious 19-year-old nanny is gone...along with the jewelry, silver, and a few rather sensitive real estate documents.
Before she knows it, the meticulous Callahan is up to her elbows in a case involving illicit love triangles, crooked business deals, long-distance scams, and a dead body. Now she has to roll up her sleeves and start some industrial strength sleuthing to solve - and survive - this mess.

Epub Every Crooked Nanny: A Callahan Garrity Mystery, Book 1
I'm a big fan of author Mary Kay Andrews. That being said, I had never read any of her early works from the 90s that were written under her real name, Kathy Hogan Trocheck. I was delighted when her publisher announced they were going to rerelease her series of Callahan Garrity mystery novels. There are eight in total with the first one being Every Crooked Nanny. In this book, the reader is introduced to Callahan Garrity, a former private investigator turned cleaning service owner. Despite the fact that Callahan has changed professions, murder and mystery follow her and she is hired to figure out who killed the nanny of an acquaintance from college. This book is a great read and since it was written in the 90s, there is also an element of going back to a simpler time before the closure of the department store Rich's, cell phones, the internet, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the second novel in the series.

This book is a 3.5 rating to me. I enjoy the quirky, spunky and funny characters that Mary Kay Andrews creates. What I do not like is the foul language. I believe the book would still read well if the cuss words, etc were removed. It is a bit off putting to me to have them in there. I also bought 2 other old books and hopefully they will make for better reading and less foul language.
